Your New Masterpiece

Glass fusing is an exciting and liberating glass art which enables artists to create glass designs by fusing compatible glass pieces together in a kiln.  In this class students will have the opportunity to make a variety of projects, and work with a wide variety of fusing materials and techniques.  In addition we will examine various finished projects and discuss how they were made.  Students will learn basic glass cutting and shaping skills; cleaning and layering techniques, and some basic kiln programming.  Previous glass fusing experience is not required.

Take Home Some Art

A fun and easy class where you will learn how to make fabulous blown glass ornaments. Each student will be given 10 glass tubes to fill with their favorite color or colors of glass and heat them with a torch. You will then blow the warm glass (actually its really hot) into a one-of-a-kind ornament.  This class is only offered in November and December.

Reinterpreting Figures

Participants will learn basic glass cutting skills and “andamenti”- or patterns of laying tiles. Each student will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of colors of glass to create his/her own unique pieces. This is a great class to learn the basics of the direct method of doing mosaic art.

Experience A Burning Desire

Come and explore the world of glass bead-making and see why this art form can be so addictive. From the time you learn to light the torch and melt the glass, you will be guided through a variety of techniques including how to create particular bead shapes such as round or donut shapes, cylinders and bicones.
